About STEP Luggage

In 1942, Mr. Karamat Ali established a luggage manufacturing company in East Pakistan to build a stable business for himself and his family. His young son, Mr. Abdus Sattar, grew up learning from his father and developed a deep passion for entrepreneurship and manufacturing.

In the 1970s, Mr. Abdus Sattar founded Baly Group of Industries, initially focusing on footwear production. Over the years, the group expanded into the manufacturing of Greco and Nan Pao adhesives, fisheries distribution, PU leather production, hatcheries, and other ventures.

In 2004, Mr. Abdus Sattar turned his attention to establishing a luggage company in Bangladesh, with the vision of producing world-class luggage and travel goods for the global market. By then, his son, Mr. Shamim Kabir, had gained valuable experience in the footwear and luggage industries. Together, they developed Step Luggage & Leather Goods Ltd. to international standards under the brand name Ornate.

Step Luggage & Leather Goods Ltd. is a Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) company in Bangladesh. Its 7,000-square-meter factory is located in Narsingdi, Bangladesh. As an export-oriented manufacturer, the company also has the privilege of selling its products in China’s local market.

Today, Step Luggage employs approximately 250 skilled workers and takes pride in its strong research and development department, enabling the company to continuously deliver innovative, high-quality luggage and travel products.
